Thank you for the valuable information on onions. They're also good for our bones. Onion soup is yummy, just in time for cold winter. I like onion but sometimes find it difficult to get rid of the smell.

Well, I guess I will have to give up on raw onions most of the time, as a trade-off, I would use red onions if not cooked, they are not as strong and less likely to linger on your breath.

I use a little bit raw onion for guacamole, cut into tiny cubes, about one spoonful only. It tastes good and not so strong.

No wonder. :) Lentil is a very interesting grain. Not sure about it's origin, but seems it can grow everywhere. Canada is a major producer of lentil too.
