Sorry, you're wrong. I worked in a university of US, I quit the job and come back to Canada. Even the head of the department was surprised, and asked me privately why. I just said, I don't like US, not the University, and the department.

I never dealt directly with clients. Nobody I know did that. Even if you found a contract on your own, your client is still likely to put you through an agency.

Let me rephrase my question -- is it possible for your Canadian sole-propriatary or incorporated business to invoice your US client (be the real client you work on site, or an US agency sitting in between)?
