枫下茶话 / 法律 / 替朋友发急贴求助:市政府来信说朋友后花园零乱,违反规定要罚款而且来支票要求朋友支付市政府上门检查费,这种情况应该求哪个机构解决? 打电话给市政府几次都没人接电话.几年前朋友家后花园已经被市政府罚款几千元(主要是人工费)

A few thousand dollars for just inspection? Even they charged $200 per hour, a few thosand ($3000+) dollars mean at least 15 hours of inspection, i.e. 2 full days. Did your friend tell you the full story?

you should check city by-laws or check the letter if the city quoted any regulation for the fine. They you need to write them a letter to state your point of view that you should not be fined.
