枫下茶话 / 法律 / Passport to USAI am currently holding China passport and have 10-year USA visa.
my passport will be expired on May 10, 2010.
I will visit USA between Oct. 31 - Nov. 3, 2009 ().
Since I only have 6 months and 7 days ahead of the date of expiry, do you think I will have trouble in getting into USA???
It is impossible for me to change a new China passport since that will remove my USA 10-year visa.

有可能过不去。 我妈妈有一次被挡在边境上了。他们这样解释的：他要给你六个月的签证，你的签证到期时，你的护照还要有六个月的有效期。实际上你的护照需要一年的有效期。这是几年前的事了。

我的护照还有2个月到期的时候，我也进去美国了，那时美签还有9年到期。

那人显然胡说。很多人的美签是10年的，那么护照至少要有10.5年的有效期，....... 谁有10.5年以上有效的护照啊？

你显然没用过VISA过境。护照上的VISA是十年有效。但每次过境时，还需要签发一个，I-94. 这个是有时间期限的。一般是六个月。

Just renew your passport, Do not worry the visa. After renew, you need to hold two passports, the new and the old, to enter in US.
