Because Canadians are being ripped off by Canadian retailers since they are born and still they are buying it! Just go buy whatever that's cheaper from the US, you just need to pay shipping + GST+PST. Now CAD is strong.

Man, without the MIR it's still much cheaper than in Canada, after tax still save $200. It's outrageous, to say the least.

Update: 买的镜头到了。从B&H,$189 Refurbished，连运费CA$240, 到家门口UPS收了CA$27 GST， 全下来CA$267

good price, althought it's non-VC version. personally i'd get a used 18-55 IS + 55-250 IS, for about $350.
VC or IS can be quite useful at the telephoto end when lighting isn't good.
