我不是很了解，不过加拿大政府不会做亏本生意。如果是闲钱，可能无所谓，要不的话哪里紧着就花哪吧。小孩将来自己勤工俭学去！

It seems there is a RESP. You deposit certain amount of money and government deposits others proportional to yours.
