I have been to both cities and including those famous areas. but what I experienced in NYC - including Brooklyn/Bronx can't compare to Detroit.NYC has improved quite a bit since the past decade. Had to give some credit to Giuliani. Detroit is different - because there is no hope. It is becoming a ghost twon and going down hill, fast.
