枫下家园 / 美丽家居 / 为防火起见，想自己把unfinished的basement装上drywall和ceiling。请问：现在的blanket insulation已经盖了所有露在地面上和部分地面下的水泥内墙，保温性能感觉很好，我可以直接在这些blanket insultation做framing吗？还是要拆掉做全新的？（HomeDepot Recommended).另外，在地面下的部分水泥内墙现在没有insulation, 这部分墙体今天摸了一下，一点都不凉，装Drywall前可以不添加fibreglass insulation 吗？谢谢。

Has anyone come across the same issue/question when DIYing your basement? I would probably reuse the existing (blanket) insulation but would like to have your inputs regarding pro/con of this approach. Thanks.Going to HD now.

i am diying my basement, the ex-owner only put insulation panel, so i installed the 2x4 on it and put insulation blanket. are you sure no framming in your basement?

No. there is no framing over blanket insulation, but I have done some framing over it without taking away the blanket or adding new insulation in the last 2 days. Please see pics within.
