I moved a tree (cheery apple) this week. The survival key is cut, root, soil and water.Cut most of branches except the main. Dig around the trunk and cut roots as far as possible from the trunk.
Use triple mix or mix top soil with peat moss and sheep manual for new bedding.
water it though after planting, compress soil by hands, add wood chips around the root to insulate moisture.
Keep water dripping slowly around the root for few days - this will ensure your grape getting enough moisture during critical days.
Send me one pound of grape next year if it survives.
