For annuals like poppy, morning glory, cosmos, I just buy the seeds (CT, WalWart, HomeDepot, nerseries, etc). For the perennials, I got them mostly from CT which is cheaper ($1-$2 each); they'll grow up quickly anyways. The columbine is perennial, we started them from seeds too; the first yr has no flower.

I bought them from CanadianTire, or Lobaw (in Spring). Pls note that when you buy them, they are very small with just 1 or 2 stems. There's a pic label in each pot to show you how it look like. They will grow up very quickly. These are perennials and so each year they get bigger and produce tons of seeds.

It's the easiest one: just leave a few when you eat one (yes, they will grow).

Thx. That's easy (I just found out): when you click "发表", you can select "HTML格式" in the dialog that pop out, and then there's this "HTML编辑助手" link. Click it, it will guide you through the steps

No, it's a bush (like blue berry, raspberry...) and I'm sure can't grow in water.

And yes it's the same as what you can buy from the stores and they test the same (very sour) :-) It may grow to as high as 10 feet. Mine is now 7 feet high.

Hi Apuma, there is a kind of brush with very red leaves which looks very nice now, do you know the name of it?I believe in summer it's just as green as all other kinds, but turns to red in Fall. I've seen a lot along the rode, wondering where can I buy one to plant in my front or back yard. I love the red color badly.

I know what you mean... you must be talking about the "Burning Bush" (they call it this name; Google ). You can buy them in Spring. Or, you can collect seeds from the bush.

Thanks Apuma, shall I collect the seed now? When should I put the seed into the soil? Is it easy to take care of them?

Yes you can collect now otherwise you have to find them on the ground...I just put them into fridge, and into a flower pot in Spring. I didn't plant any in the yard, 'cause I've no more place :--(

What does the seed look like, does it grow fast in Spring? If all flower seeds need to be stored in fridge -- frozen or un-frozen part? Sorry for so many stupid questions. :)

It's red. You'll see if you get to the bush. You can dry it and then store it anywhere, or put it into 4 degree fridge. I don't know much; just read somewhere saying that the seeds of some plant (trees, bushes)need to be put in a cold place for at least 2 months before you can plant them (just like what it'll go through in winter in nature). Especially for Japanese maple seeds. I collected over a hundreds of them 2 yrs ago, but even after storing them in fridge for over 3 months, only 4 germinate and they all die one way or another (the last one died because I was out on vacation). I ended up spent $200 to buy a 5 feet one; it's hard and too slow to go from seeds for trees. But for the bushes, it should be ok.

It's so nice of you always try help people like me (w/o knowlege at all in gardening)! Have you ever tried to plant this burning bush from seed?If yes, would you pls. share your experience w/ me, if not, I may buy one in Spring and see what will happen.
However, I someday want to try plant a big thing from seeds. That would be a great test on my patient. :)

Yes I did once and they grow very well in the pot. I've no place in the yard for them though. I also collected a few seeds of the 银杏from Edwards Garden; One of them still growing in the yard(1.5ft now).
