密室里面那个人是伏地魔的灵魂，借着一本旧日记本的力量（金妮捡到的那本）复活，然后驱动密室里的巨蛇把魔法学校里面麻瓜血统（出身于普通人家庭，没有魔法血统）的学生一个个石化。
伏地魔是魔法界邪恶势力的代表，杀掉波特父母但是没能杀死波特的那个人，他对baby波特施了必死咒，但是波特的妈妈对波特的爱打败了他的魔咒，最后他只在波特脑门上留下了一道闪电疤痕，反而使自己也元气大伤，无法以人形存货，但他还残存一些法力，一直有一批秘密追随他的信徒帮助他恢复法力，复活、借尸还魂什么的。
