Air Canada has dropped the price of their flights from Vancouver to Tokyo, Japan down to $749 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

The flights are nonstop both ways, in and out of Tokyo's Narita airport (NRT).

This price drop is notable because it's the first time I've seen Air Canada compete with Zipair's low cost flights to Tokyo.

Air Canada is actually undercutting Zipair's cheapest prices by the time you factor everything in.

These are also the lowest prices Air Canada has offered to Japan in years.

There are currently flights available from Vancouver, Victoria, or Nanaimo to Hawaii for under $335 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

The flights from Vancouver are non-stop both ways. The flights from Victoria or Nanaimo have 1 stop in Vancouver each way.

In many cases, Air Canada's slightly more expensive flights are a better deal than WestJet's Ultrabasic fares (which don't include carry-on).

Beware of deceptive travel marketing trying to convince you that a $298 WestJet Ultrabasic fare, without *any* luggage, even carry-on, is an amazing deal.

WestJet is showing a few December flights from Vancouver to Huatulco, Mexico for $438 CAD roundtrip including taxes, including a checked bag and a personal item.

The flights are nonstop both ways.

This is a CBO deal (Checked Bag Only). You cannot bring carry-on. However, in addition to your checked bag, you can still bring a personal item (something that fits under the seat in front of you).

If you have the WestJet World Elite credit card, which comes with free checked bags, you can book these flights for $333 CAD roundtrip.

To save money, sometimes couples or families will book one passenger with a checked bag, and the others without.

2. Click through to the WestJet website by clicking on the 'Ultrabasic' fare.

- Select the 'UltraBasic' fares on the WestJet website, which do *not* include carry-on.

- After the seat selection page you will be asked if you would like to add checked luggage for $45-$47 each way.

3. If you do not care about bringing any luggage at all (just a personal item), it is possible to book these for as low as $333 roundtrip on Kayak or Skyscanner

Aer Lingus and Alaska Airlines have dropped the price of their off-season flights from Vancouver to Dublin, Ireland down to $662 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

The flights have 1 stop each way in Toronto or Seattle.

It's not super exciting due to the off-season dates, but it is a notable price. And it's also interesting due to the involvement of Aer Lingus.

You do see Aer Lingus drop their flights to Dublin from Seattle on occasion, but a price drop involving the connecting flight from Vancouver hasn't been seen since 2017.

You can also find a few dates in May for $18-$77 more roundtrip.

British Airways has dropped the price of their flights from Vancouver to Nairobi, Kenya and Johannesburg, South Africa down to between $861 and $1028 CAD roundtrip including taxes.

The flights have 1 stop in London Heathrow each way.

The layovers are long in both directions, ranging from 6 to 19 hours.

Although overall the total travel time isn't *drastically* longer than the fastest flights, particularly to Johannesburg.

You can also find flights from Vancouver to Mauritius (the beautiful island country East of Madagascar) for $1169 CAD roundtrip. But the flights have an airport change in London in both directions. On the way there you don't have a ton of time to get from Heathrow to Gatwick. It would be tight.

KLM is also showing a few flights to Cape Town, South Africa via Amsterdam for $1155 roundtrip (there is an 11-15 hour layover in Paris or Amsterdam on the way back).
