1. "As a lady would say" by Sheryl Shades. This book provides some good response to life's common situations. Good communication skills does not mean accomodating others giving up your principles after all. Polishing the language skills are secondary, building up your inner strengths matters a lot. You will feel so after reading this book. Jia-you!
2. Gulliver's Travels. This is a classic that has the best English language, commented by many earlier great Chinese scholars fluent in English. Simply beautiful, concise, and logical, wonderful wonderful language. You can read it to your child by the way, too. THAT is good English.
