I think you have to consult the salesperson and try the products they recommend to you by yourself, because everybody's skin type is different.
If you like shiseido, I was told we can find Shiseido's products for Asian in Chinatown's salon or spa. And sometimes they give away gifts too. (I only tried its cleansing gel and moisturizer, but didn't feel good.)
I care much more about skincare products. My skin is normal to a little oily type. Personally I like Clinique's yellow facial lotion and cleansing soap, which are so economical and work so well. Clinique's 7-day facial scrub is good too, but its toner is too irritating for me. I also like EL's unline eye cream and Hydrating Facial. (Many Chinese girls said CD's eye cream is quite good.) By the way, I think L'Oreal and Neutrugena, and Body Shop's products are quite good at slightly cheaper prices.
