Shampoos to kill lice are available at local pharmacies without prescription, e.g. Kwellada
Procedure for shampooing
1. remove all clothing
2. apply a sufficient quantity of head lice shampoo to DRY HAIR to thoroughly wet the hair and scalp
3. work the shampoo through the hair exactly as stipulated on the package insturctions.........
Apply a little water at a time and throughly shampoo in. DO NOT OVERDILUTE. Continue shampooing vigorously for stipulated time.
4. rinse hair well with water, then with a solution of 1oz. of vinegar mixed in 1 quart of water to help loosen nits
5 dry hair and use either a metal or plastic nit comb to remove nit or pull them off by grasping the nit between the finger tips and pulling nit along the strand of hair
Discard nits into a paper bag and put bag into enclosed garbage container or incinerate.
6. put on clean clothes after treatment.
