If like watch concert or performance, check Kennedy Center. It has 3 performance halls. The concert we went, with violinist Joshua Bell, ticket price from 35 to 65. There may have some free performance. check their website to find out.
Ford theater, where Lincoln was murdered, near china town and American art museum. the tour is free to get ticket at box office. Don't book the tour on their website, which will charge $3 something. The tour show a exhibition at basement of the theater about Lincoln and Civil War, then go into the theater hall, a guy tell story about Lincoln murdered details.

From DC drive 2 hours or so is Hershey, the chocolate world. there is a big play park with huge roller coasters, like wonderland. And a outlet mall, Tanger Outlet (46 Outlet Square, Hershey, PA 17033) has Lark, Polo, tommy, Bass,etc, only 2 miles from Chocolate world. Hershey area has Amish farms, but we didn't go.
From Hershey drive around 3.5 hours is Corning Glass Museum. We spent couple of hours there.
