than our immigrants, because they have their root, local education, family and etc. but this may not true. I know a mom who has 2 children, 7 and 8.
She lost her job a year ago, that's an accounting job she had been doing in a mutual fund company for 17 years.
She told me her husband is really working hard to support the family, 6 days a week, 10-12 hours daily on a 12$/h job basis. They have only 1 car, the husband drives it to work, so she had to walk sending and geting her children. She told me she had no money to send her children to after school program. Her family is from Greece, her farther immigranted to Canada at his 20s. She is born in Toronto.
I guess the reson they still struggle for life is that they didn't have a university education, but I bet there are more ordinary family like this one.
I am trying to say here is if you work hard, you can support your family even it's a low pay job.
