The cost of taking a class to a beach party is partly constant and partly varies
inversely as the number of students.If 12 students are taken,then it costs each student $4.
If 30 students were to go it would cost each student $1.20.
a)What would it cost to take 60 students?
b)What costs would be included as part of the constant cost?

Answer: a) 32


hint: T=S+kn where k is the constant of variation
n is the number of copies
S is the fixed cost
T is the total cost

      K is inversely so the equation goes

      T = S + K/N

      48 = S + K/12
      36 = S + K/30

      S = 28
      K = 240

      a) When n = 60, T = 28 + 4 =32.
      b) Constant cost is S = 28.
