I visited the park last Sunday. I sugest you make your decision after you get there. There is always vacancy if you avoid Thanksgiving.

the route is 400->11->60, there is 43km of 60 in the park from the west gate to east gate of the park, the traffic iwas perffect when we were going toward the park, we were drving >130km/h most of the time, but it was slow when we were going back.

when you get there, don't forget to pickup the free stuffs at the west gate information center including the park instruction and the ontario maps, and the guys there are very nice, they will tell you every thing about the park.

I walked only two trails because I didn't have time to fininsh all of them, the longes trail is Mizzy Lake Trail, it takes whole day, they says it's the best tail for seeing wildlife.

well, have a great time in Algonquin.
