Canon ZR 50MC or Canon Elura 40MC: My comments and suggestions

本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛1.The camcorder models mentioned in your post should be Canon ZR 50MC , $1100, and Canon Elura 40MC, $1400. Canon do not have a camcorder model named ZR50 or Elura50. Both camcorders are new models of this year, 2002.
2. Elura 40MC is a pocket-sized miniDV camcorder and replaces last year’s mode of Elura 20MC with no change of 680,000 pixels. Some new features of 40MC are : USB for still imaging, direct print, motion JPEG, XGA high resolution photos and A/D pass though etc. To keep the price down, 40MC has some downgrades from 20MC like no progressive scan CCD, smaller and lower resolution LCD and no extend recording function etc. ( I bought my Elura 20MC for CA$1700 plus tax last year with original SRP of $1800. SRP of 40MC is only $1400).
3. ZR 50MC is the top line of ZR serious of Canon and has all the features of Elura 40MC. But total pixels of ZR50MC is only 460,000, much less than 680.00 of Elura 40MC. For TV reviewing, this should be not a problem, but for still photos, there are some differences.
4. Major facts are : 1) SIZE, ZR 50MC is much bigger than Elura 40MC and is not a pocket camcorder. With Elura 40MC you can put it in your pocket and go anywhere. Elura 40MC is cute and convenience. 2). PIXELS: ZR 50MC has 468,000 and Elura 40MC has 680,000. 3) PRICE. a difference of $300, for this money, you can buy a low-end still digital camera or a pretty good point and shoot film camera.

        是我打错了型号。我已经买了ZR50，因为我不需要她的STILL SHOT的功能，我同时还买了G2。当然我也喜欢ERULA的SIZE，而且ERULA有一些手动的功能是ZR50没有的，不过经过思考，觉得以后不见得会用，而且朋友建议说ZR50得NIGHTSHOT功能要比ERULA好，这是SIZE所带得付面影响，而且ZR50得SIZE没有大到不可以忍受得地步，所以也就算了。就是样子比起ERULA丑了点。：）
