some thing still not right!!

Base on what you found, some thing still not right.
Have you got power back after you fix up the short? Not thing to worry about if power is back on after it got fixed.

Check it again, make sure the "black" or the "red" not shorted to white or ground( bare copper wire)

白线和GROUND should have a connection, they are connected throught the "Earth ground", Earth ground means the actual "Earth". phyically they are not connected at your breaker panel, However the "White" wire is connected to the "Earth ground" at the power station or the out side transformer.

The uninsulated copper wire is there draining the electricity to "Earth" in case "electrical leakage" from the appliance,it is connected to the metal breaker panel

The white wire is the return path back to out side tranformer then connect to Earth ground, (there for these two wire, the white and uninsulated copper wire is some how connected)

        Do you know where is the circiut breaker for those out let??????? make sure you turn if off before start any work for checking. Remember "SAFETY FIRST"

        Normaly. 4 duplicate receptacle out let were wired into one singl circuit breaker.
        What you need to do, open all receptacle out let that is suspected had a short, and disconnect the two black wire, it should be two black wire connected to the out let if it is in the middle or the begining of the circuit, (otherwise will be only one black wire if it is at the end of the circuit ,(parallel connection) measure both the black wire's resistance to ground,I assume that you have a DMM and understand how to use it?, this measurement will determind which end of the black wire is shorted to ground, then follow the same thing to measure all other out let, untill the faulty is found.

        离POWER PANEL最近的OUTLET1有2条白线和GROUND短路,另一个OUTLET2只有1条白线和GROUND短路.难道是从POWER PANEL到OOUTLET1之间的线也有问题? 为什么黑线又没有问题了呢?

            I don't get power back because It's a fused power panel and I didn't have the proper fuse yesterday. I feel something strange, and will do further inspection today.
          • Found problem, black wire between outlet2 and outlet3 shorted to "Earth ground". temporary solution: switch black wire and white wire between outlet 2 and outlet3, I had power back and it's fine now, every outlet has power and grounded. -dannyqi(dannyqi); 2008-4-6 (#4378658@0)
