Collect foftwood cuttings as soon as the first flower buds form in the late spring or early sumer.Cuttings taken from stems that are just about to flower consistently have the highest percentage of rooting. gather your cuttings when conditions are cool. Morning is a good time, as the stems have not been wilted by the sun. never let cuttings dry out. move them quickly into a cool place and sprinkle with water immediately. If material is availble , larger cuttings are preferable. acutting 10-20cm long will make a much stonger plant than a smaller cutting. Cut any flowers or flower buds off the tips. while the cut is still fresh, dip the base of the cuttings in rooting hormone 0.2% IBA (#2). Stick the cuttings in a rooting medium.......I have found that a mixture of 4 parts perlite to 1 part peatmoss works well.
