Most people told me that it is hard to find a job in Canada now. In this case, I possibly can't get a mortgage.
I will finish my PhD this summer but who knows what will happen next? Maybe I will out of job for a long time (I am a PhD of Computer Science)
I am not a good labour worker(I have some problems with my leg, of course not disabled)
I only want to buy a one or two bed room flat or a detached small house for my family.
The best job for me is a lecturer or a demonstrator in some university. This kind of job offers less salary but more security.
Of course, if I can find a excellent job, my situation will be different. For now, I has to make a compromised decision.

Hi,

I will go to Canada this summer and want to buy an appartment or a house near Tornoto. The total lump sum I have is only around 17.5k canadian dollar. Possibly I cann't get mortgage since I will be jobless at that time.( it is not sure whether I will be out of job, I am trying to find a PostDoc position)
I really need some suggestions and comments.

It is hard to find job here now for most of guys. I have a friend who got his master degree in computer science last year. he changed three jobs and recently got a good offer from US. I don't think you will be jobless since PhDs in computer are few. good luck.
